Mining Pool post Tokenomics Change

With the tokenomics change that reduces miner rewards significantly, it is forseen that many mining pools would shut down their Firo pools as it is no longer profitable.

While solo mining isn’t too bad, a lot of the popular mining software only support stratum pool mining. There is software that allows people to run local stratum proxies to simulate this which would be great for decentralization but will cut out those miners who don’t have the technical chops.

We are seeking help on whether anyone would be willing to run a reliable pool to cater during this transition period. Mintpond @JCTheMiner has shared a good part of his code with the core team but has warned that the code may be a bit messy. Maintaining a pool would be a bit heavy on the core team so we were seeking if anybody (even if you’re running an existing pool) that would be willing to continue hosting it with perhaps some small subsidy from the Community Fund Committee (if they approve it) to cover costs.

Would be cool if firo could get some P2Pool or Gupax type of easy mining on the go.

A P2Pool solution would be great but need help to integrate FiroPoW on that!

We have spoken to K1 but they are unsure if they would continue post hard fork.
