Saw the recent calls for Firo decentralized exchanges and decided to do my part as a Firo Fam to host a FiroDEX instance. Saw the fork of Komodo Wallet CE at GitHub - firoorg/firodex-wallet-ce: FiroDEX Wallet CE and decided to give it a go.
I will be working to make it more Firo-centric when I have some spare time.
Please remember that the site doesn’t control your keys and it’s stored locally within your browser.
As this is still considered a ‘hot wallet’ create a wallet specifically for FiroDEX and don’t re-use your keys from other wallets. Only deposit what you want to trade or offer, don’t keep your long term stash here.
Hope you guys like it and appreciate feedback! Really love the move that Firo is doing into focusing on DEXes. Keep fighting guys!
Really cool @ZenCache ! I’m excited to try out your site unfortunately I can’t load it the Komodo wallet logo keeps moving and doesn’t let me in at all. (firefox)
Hey @anon92580724, Thanks for the feedback! Yes, this is because Tor browser blocks some stuff that it prevents the page from loading. In previous versions of Tor Browser you can configure an exception to allow it but not anymore. So either Komodo needs to change their webapp code or tor browser needs to change. Brave browser with TOR works because it still allows it but it is going through the TOR network.
Do you know the process of how to get other coins listed on Firo’s DEX?
I would love to see some other privacy coins listed, such as Epic Cash, RYO, ZANO (& fUSD), BEAM, PRCY, & maybe others. I know some if not all would like to have DEX listings, especially due to TO disappearing. I have seen recent discussion on Epic Cash TG re. possibility of them creating their own DEX, but perhaps they would be good with a listing on Firo DEX, probably easier and cheaper, idk. I could approach them (and others) to see if any interest if this is possible.
FiroDEX is based off Komodo Wallet/DEX and they are the ones that do coin integrations. One of the requirements is to have HTLC atomic swaps support. I’m not sure how Mimblewimble type of coins deal with this and similarly RingCT based atomic swaps are also more complex. I remember Komodo Wallet guys looking at it but didn’t see any progress on it for some reason. One way that Pirate has done to support it is to go through a transparent address mid-way and only allow it if it’s sandwiched in a way that it’s an atomic swap.
