Binance has added a Monitoring Tag to Firo

Will it be lowered by Binance?

This does not explain whether it will be removed, but the team has made a partial compromise.

Thus far, our exchange address proposal still remains acceptable by Binance and we’re still in active contact with them. That’s all I can say at this point due to the sensitive nature of the matter.

But think it like this, if Binance wanted to really delist us, why would they engage in discussions with us?

I hope so. It’s been rough. We’ve been squeezed

Just a quick update, had a short discussion with Binance’s compliance team and internally, Firo has passed their review for compliance on privacy coins. Zcash also has passed this review.

It looks like Binance will be moving to adopt Exchange Addresses and barring other unforeseen circumstances, we should be fine from a compliance standpoint.

Again monitoring status is reviewed every quarter so hoping to get it removed at the earliest opportunity which is early April.

Binance has mentioned internally to us that they intend to adopt Exchange Addresses within 3-6 months. It is unclear whether they will remove the Monitoring Tag prior to this but we are in discussions with them now.

We’re also discussing with HTX and Gate.io. HTX concerns are Korean regulations which explicitly ban privacy coins and while Korean regulations should not affect the rest of the world, HTX values its Huobi Korea exchange greatly. There’s no immediate risk but something to keep in mind.

Gate.io imo is following Binance steps.

Does Binance not currently use the exchange’s exchange address?
How many exchanges currently use exchange addresses?
