# Setting - Allow Incomming Connections

This setting:  
QT Wallet - Settings - Options - Network - **Allow Incomming Connections**

What is to “allow incomming connections?” I turned this off and the wallet works fine syncronizing. What is it used for and why is it by default to allow?
